Research

Students enrolled in the DesComp Dual degree program can anticipate working with faculty and students on a range of research topics and projects. Additionally students will be expected to define a research project associated with a faculty member(s) to embark upon during their thesis project. Faculty engaged in the DesComp program work in the areas of Computer Vision, Robotics, Design Analytics, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction and Digital Fabrication. Many faculty driven projects are affiliated with industry partners, including Autodesk, Electrolux and a variety of national design firms. UNC Charlotte has a variety of facilitates to support this research including an advanced Digital Fabrication Lab, the Interaction Design Lab, the UNC Charlotte Visualization Center.
